Al Shabaab fighters abducted two local NGO staff members in Toos Weyne (52km W of Baidoa) on 24/11. The abducted staffs were on a mission to visit a health facility in the area and were taken to Buulo Xaawo village (9km SW of Toos Weyne). Reports indicate that elders have started negotiating with al Shabaab to secure their release. According to latest reports, the staff and their driver were transferred from Buulo Xaawo village to Diinsoor for further interrogations. They are all from Leysan sub clan of Rahanweyn. |
