A KDF warplane, which conducted air strikes in Jamaame District, crashed in Dasheg Waamo, about 30km N of Kismaayo as it returned to the base in Kismaayo in the afternoon of 04/12. KDF claimed the plane had developed technical problems and crashed but the al Shabaab Waali (governor) of Juba, Sheekh Abdirahman Hudeyfa said al Shabaab fighters had shot down the warplane and the body of the pilot and wreckage of the plane is under their custody. Later, al Shabaab took the body of the pilot to Jilib for public view. |
