Al Shabaab fighters launched a hit-and-run attack against SNG forces in Maduulow Village (25km NE of Qoryooley) in the afternoon of 29/12. The two sides exchanged gunfire for about 15 minutes after which the al Shabaab fighters withdrew. At least five al Shabaab fighters including the former commander in Buulo Mareer were killed in the clash. The al Shabaab fighters launched a retaliatory attacks against SNG/AMISOM positions' in Buulo Mareer later in the evening, causalities not known. |
