Heavy fighting broke out between Hawadle and Dir militias in Defow Village (30 km NW of Beled Weyne) in the morning of 31/12. The fighting was related to previous armed clashes between the two clans. Ten combatants were killed and more than 10 others injured. Latest reports indicate that Hawadle militias managed to take-over the village. Ten Hawadle militias were killed and 20 more were injured. Further reports suggest that Dir community have been displaced and started moving towards Ethiopia while fresh fighting resumed in the morning of 01/01 |
