Tensions run high in Xin-Galool village (142km SE of Ceerigaabo) on 23/02 after militiamen from Warsangeli/Reer Saalax sub-clan opened fire at their clan elders who were handling a murder case between Warsangeli/Bah iidoor and Warsangeli/Reer Saalax sub-clans. It is not clear if anyone was hit. They accused the elders of reaching blood compensation agreement and preventing them from killing a man who killed one of their clansmen. Somaliland forces in the village managed to cool the tensions. No casualties were reported. |
