Unidentified men armed with pistols shot and killed a former al Shabaab member who defected to the Somali Government in Towfiiq neighbourhood of Yaaqshiid District in the evening of 07/05/2015. The victim was a former Judge in Diinsoor District of Bay Region but defected from al Shabaab side soon after the killing of Abdullahi Sahal aka Isku-Dhuug by an American Drone Strike in 2014. A pro-al Shabaab website, Somalimemo.net published a report claiming that Amniyat killed him in Towfiiq neighbourhood of Yaaqshiid District, the report accused him of being behind a number of Drone attacks on al Shabaab Officials. |
