| Description | Al Shabaab fighters ambushed six SNG soldiers that defected from Wajid district near Goof Gadud village (30 KM NW of Baidoa) as the soldiers were heading on foot to Baidoa on 22/06. Both sides briefly exchange small arms fire and four soldiers were killed in the incident. Two others managed to escape from al Shabaab and reached SNGF bases near Baidoa late last night. SNGF soldiers recovered the bodies this morning from Haween village (18 KM NW of Baidoa) for burial. |
