Unidentified gunmen shot and killed a traditional elder in Buundoweyne in the evening of 22/06. This is the second killing of a high profile individual in the town since the beginning of Ramadan. Elder Omar Barre, also a Xawadle clan elder, was shot dead in the town on 20/06/2015. The perpetrators managed to escape but further reports indicate that the police in Belet Weyn have arrested and detained four people suspected of involvement in the murder of the elder.
