Al Shabaab fighters launched a hit and run attack against Bosnia section of Dhoobley Town (120 KM east of Afmadow) where TIS/DAI is drilling a borehole which was guarded by Dhoobley police in the evening of 26/06. All communication was switched off after LA received a tip that al Shabaab fighters might advance towards the town. After 20 minutes of gun-fire exchange, which could be heard also in Liboi town, al Shabaab fighters withdrew. Three JLF and one al Shabaab fighter have reported died while three soldiers and one Kenyan engineer got injured. |
