Hundreds of people staged a peaceful demonstration against Somali Federal Government and the UN Special Envoy to Somalia, Nicholas Kay, in Garowe in the morning of 28/06. The demonstrators expressed their anger against the upcoming Galmudug state that claims the ownership of entire Mudug region. They strongly criticized the Federal Government over its federalism policy while waving banners that read slogans such as "Puntland will never accept violation of the constitution". Similar demonstrations also took place in Bosasso. |
