Tensions ran high in Kulmiye neighbourhood in Ceerigaabo on 30/06 after group of people, mostly youth and women, from Warsangeli/ Ba Ugaas Labe sub-clan stoned a venue where traditional elders from Habar Yonis/Abdalle Haamud) and Warsangeli/ Ba Ugaas Labe sub-clan were meeting with Sanaag regional governor to discuss the recent murder of Warsangeli man by a perpetrator from Habar Yonis. The group stoned the venue following rumours that Warsangeli elders were planning to accept blood compensation for the murder of their kinsman. Police dispersed the group. |
