| Description | Unidentified gunmen believed to be pro-Khatumo militia shot and killed a Somaliland army officer and injured another in Kalabaydh village (30km S of Laas Caanood) in the evening of 05/07. The two victims are from Dhulbahante/Jama Siyaad sub-clan and Habarjeclo clan respectively. The motive of the killing is unknown and the perpetrators escaped. Somaliland forces conducted a security operation in the outskirts of the village following the attack but no arrests were reported. |
