Armed gun-men attacked a busy Qat market in Jalalaqsi where people were chewing in the evening of 05/07. In the surprise attack, a gun-man opened fire and managed to kill one soldier and injured two more and two civilians. Further reports indicate that the gun-man also threw two hand grenades which did not explode. The attacker, thought to be al Shabaab member managed to escape from the scene with the help of others. SNG soldiers arrived at the location after 20 minutes and opened fire in the air to disperse gathered people. |
