Seven unidentified gunmen attacked the residence of Awdal regional governor in Borama town on 07/10. The attackers killed two of the governor's security guards and injured two others. Borama police immediately arrived at the scene to reinforce the security guards and managed to seize three of the gunmen. Somaliland army set up checkpoints in the streets of the town following the attack. No one has so far claimed responsibility but many sources indicate that Suldan Waber militias may have been behind it. |
