A VBIED was targeted against a convoy escorting ISWA President Sharif Hassan Sheikh Adan in the vicinity of Carbiska (Afgooye District) in the evening of 11/11. The ISWA president was travelling from Afgooye to Mogadishu when the incident happened. Another explosion (probably a RCIED) was again targeted the convoy but both blasts did not hit the intended target. This is the second time President Sharif Hassan survived an assassination attempt along Mogadishu-Afgooye road. Al Shabaab claimed the responsibility for the attack. No casualties were reported. |
