Right2Know protesters gather outside Independent Newspaper's offices in St George's Mall to demonstrate against the firing of an editor. The group also called for greater press freedom and greater editorial independence. During the protest MTMSA counter protesters gathered, calling for a "media transformation" and accusing the R2K group of racism. The MTMSA is an umbrella group mainly comprised of Agang SA supporters. Clashes reported, though the extent of them are not clear. Police intervene and dispersed the two groups. |
