Police claim protesters threw stones as they marched in Ou Kaapse Weg. Earlier in the day they had forced the closure of the N2 highway by throwing stones at cars. They then poured oil on the highway and used large rocks and tires to blockade the town. Looting was reported and shots were heard late on Monday night. |
