Description On October 30 and November 1st, Sudanese troops carried out house-to-house searches of Tabit. During these searches they separated the men of the village from the women and children. They beat, some severely, and humiliated the men and raped many women and girls, at least 200 in total, while also looting property. A Sudanese army commander admitted his troops engaged in the abuses, and Huamn Rights Watch released a report detailing the incident. Some residents of the town also participated in the abuses alongside the soldiers.
