Militiamen loyal to Somaliland Minister of Health and Khatumo forces clashed near Abdi Guray Plaza Hotel in Buuhoodle in the night of 09/02. The clash was reportedly triggered by an earlier ambush against Somaliland minister of health by Khatumo forces. Both sides reportedly used light and heavy weapons during the clash which lasted for several hours after which the pro-Somaliland militias withdrew. Khatumo forces reportedly suffered unspecified numbers of injuries. Latest reports suggest that tensions flared up between pro-Somaliland and pro-Khatumo and both sides are mobilizing their respective militias. |
