SNGF attacked Buur Weyn Village (29km N of Bulo Burte) early in the morning of 13/02. Al Shabaab vacated the village without any resistance but re-grouped with reinforcement from other al Shabaab fighters and attacked Buur Weyn before mid-day. Although SNGF received also reinforcement from other SNGF units, they were defeated by al Shabaab and had to vacate and returned to their base in Bulo Burte. AMISOM did not send reinforcement to assist SNGF. SNGF reported one injured soldier while casualties on al Shabaab side are unknown. |
