Al Shabaab fighters launched an attack against AMISOM/SNA forces in Buufow Bacaad Village (5km NW of Marka town) in the afternoon of 27/02. These forces were deployed in Buufow Bacaad to receive a convoy from Mogadishu. Both sides exchanged gunfire briefly after which the al Shabaab fighters retreated to Janaale direction. According to locals, al Shabaab brought injuries in Janaale. The exchange of gunfire also caused the death of number of goats which were caught in the crossfire. No specific report of human fatality. |
