Heavy fighting broke out in Dhusamareeb town between pro-Galmudug militia, led by former SNGF commander who switched sides last year and ASWJ in Dhusamareeb in the early hours of 02/03. The fighting is still on-going, seemingly Pro-Galmudug militia having the upper hand. More than seven combatants from both sides were confirmed dead while more than that number were injured. Civilians also suffered unknown numbers of losses. Galmudug forces have taken over Mareer Guur (28 KM NE of Dhusamareeb) after ASWJ went to Dhusamareeb for reinforcement. Both sides mobilizing reinforcement which could affect other areas like Cabud Waaq, Guriel and Xerale. |
