Unidentified armed group believed to be from Habar-Jeclo opened fire at vehicle (Toyota Noah) belonging to Dhulbahante/Reer Hayaag sub-clan in the area of Oog village (23km E of Caynabo) on 11/03 after attempts to stop the vehicle failed. The vehicle was ferrying passengers from Burco to Buuhoodle when he incident happened and the driver speed off and managed to escape unhurt. The incident is reportedly related to previous killing of Habar-Jeclo man by Dhulbahante militias in Geed Xamarka near Carro Weyn village (45km NE of Buuhoodle). This incident triggered tensions in the area especially local travellers between Burco, Laas Caanood and Buuhoodle. No casualties were reported. |
