A group of youths demonstrated against the governor during a visit to visit to Ceel Gaal (50km SW of Zeylac)on 25/03. The group was complaining of the current severe drought in the area and lack of response from the Somaliland government. They also accused the government of not initiating development projects in the village. The youths reported shouted anti-Somaliland slogans. Efforts by the governor to persuade them calm down bore no fruit, forcing him to leave the village. No violence reported. |
