Jubaland forces took over Jana Cabdalle Village (60km SE of Afmadow) without resistance from al Shabaab in the morning of 09/04. Following the takeover, the Jubaland forces burnt down an al Shabaab police post in the village. No human casualties or arrests were reported. The forces stayed in the village until 23:00. Upon their return to their base in Kismaayo they were ambushed near Saac Mooja (approx. 5km NW of Kismaayo). During the ambush al Shabaab fighters used small weapons. No casualties were reported from either side. |
