An unidentified masked man armed with a pistol believed to have links with al Shabaab reportedly shot and killed a man from Dhulbahante/Baharsame-sub clan in the vicinity of Tuulo Qodax neighbourhood (Las Anod) in the evening of 11/04. Reports indicate that the victim was a former senior al Shabaab commander who defected in 2014. The victim was reportedly arrested by the Somaliland government in a joint security operation conducted with Ethiopian support and was later released on bail. Unconfirmed reports indicate that the victim was currently member of Somaliland Intelligence. |
