The Central Command of Somali National Army (SNA) stated that its Special Commandos raided and destroyed an IS training camp in Janaale (13km NW of Marka) on 03/05. According to information released by state run media, the Special forces killed 12 IS fighters including a foreign fighter (a photo of his corpse appeared in the media) and captured other fighters alive. This claim could not be independently verified. Currently the town is controlled by al Shabaab. Contradictory reports indicate that the operation was conducted in Jamaame district (Lower Juba) and not in Janaale. |
