Puntland Police Marine Forces (PMPF) and militia from Majeerten/Wabeneye clashed over a land dispute in Qaw Village (35 km W of Bosasso) in the morning of 11/05. The fighting broke out after the PMPF ordered workers to stop construction work at a site, claiming the land belonged to PMPF, after which the clan militia came and attacked the PMPF. A militiaman was killed and three others were injured. The PMPF reportedly suffered no casualties. Although local clan elders have intervened, the situation is tense. |
