Somaliland police forces supported by Special Protection Unit (SPU) raided a house in Half London neighbourhood in Ahmed Dhagah District (Hargeisa) in the night of 15/05. The house is allegedly used by al Shabaab. The occupants exchanged fire with the security forces for about 15-20 minutes. Following the shootout the security forces conducted a search operation in several sections of Hargeisa. There is no confirmation of the rumoured escape of some al Shabaab operatives. One SPU officer was reportedly injured while two al Shabaab operatives were arrested during the raid. |
