Local residents staged anti-Somaliland violent demonstrations and expressed their support for Khatumo administration in Buuhoodle on 15-16/02. The protests comes a day after pro-Somaliland elders from Dhulbahante held a press conference and condemned the militiamen loyal to Khatumo who killed two Habar-Jeclo herders in Geed Xamarka village near Carro Wayn village (45km NE of Buuhoodle). The protesters marched in the streets of the town chanting anti-Somaliland slogans and burned tires while also damaged and destroyed windscreens of private vehicles. The two protests is believed to be organized by the Khatumo administration. |
