Supporters of Somaliland opposition parties staged a violent demonstration against the decision of the Upper House to extend the term of the current government. The demonstrators burned tires at the main bridge in Burco. Police arrived at the scene to disperse the crowd and arrested a number of Wadani party supporters while three protestors were injured due to the police intervention. Police also surrounded the office of the Wadani opposition party and arrest five senior members for disturbing the peace. |
