The al Shabaab fighters opened fire on the car, killing a young boy and slightly wounding a woman, who was the owner of the mira. The woman and the driver managed to get off the car and escaped towards Baidoa town, where they later got assistance from a car that transported her to Baidoa hospital for treatment. Al Shabaab fighters seized the car with the mira and burnt it to ashes. |

The driver was injured in the shooting but managed to escape to AMISOM base in Goof Gaduud Shabeelow Village, 7km away. The al Shabaab fighters burned the tri-motor cycle and its cargo. The tri-cycle had left Baidoa and was heading to Ali Mumin and Xagarka villages in Baidoa District when the incident happened. |
